Senior People Business Partner at Artsy

Eva Mak has a diverse range of work experience. Eva started their career as an intern at Christie's in 2010, where they worked in Post-War & Contemporary Art. Eva then worked as a Freelance Writer for various art publications, including ART PAPERS, Daily Serving, Candid Magazine, and Metropolis M from August 2015 to January 2016.

In 2016, Eva joined ARTUNER as a Writer, where they wrote weekly features for ARTUNER magazine and was featured in the Londonist Out Loud podcast. From 2016 to 2017, they worked at Artichoke Trust as a Corporate Fundraising Associate, responsible for building relationships with marketing agencies, generating leads, and devising fundraising strategies.

Eva joined Artsy in 2018 and held multiple roles at the company. Eva started as an SDR: Gallery Partnerships Associate, EMEA in February 2018 and worked until December 2018. Eva then became a Sales Executive from January 2019 to September 2019. After moving to New York City and obtaining a US work authorization in 2019, they returned to Artsy as a Salex Executive from February 2020 to December 2020, where they sold annual subscriptions to gallery businesses and achieved monthly revenue targets.

Continuing their journey at Artsy, Eva held the position of Senior Account Executive from November 2020 to June 2021. Eva pioneered a team focused on growth and retention of top segment partners, and they delivered exceptional results, exceeding goals for net MRR and GMV. In June 2021, they transitioned to the role of People Business Partner (HRBP), where they partnered with the sales organization and leaders to drive teams towards ambitious revenue growth. In this role, they managed employee relations, provided coaching and leadership development, implemented talent and retention strategies, and facilitated organizational design and change management.

Throughout their career, Eva has demonstrated expertise in sales, fundraising, and business partnerships within the art industry.

Eva Mak started their education journey in 2010 at the University of Cambridge, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A. hons) degree in History of Art, completing it in 2013. In 2012, they took a brief detour and attended the Università per Stranieri di Siena, specializing in Italian Language and Culture, earning a B1 qualification. Following this, in 2013, they enrolled in the Cambridge Judge Business School, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Management Studies in 2014. Later, in 2014-2015, Eva pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Global Conceptual Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art, U. of London.
