Alex Lofting is a dynamic integrated design engineer with nearly 20 years of international experience. Currently serving as a Principal at Arup since September 2021, Alex has previously held the position of Director at Buro Happold from July 2018 to October 2021. An Associate Director at Arup from September 2001 to July 2018, Alex returned to the Bristol office after five years in San Francisco, bringing a strong technical background and a focus on high-profile projects in the built environment. Earlier experience includes a role as a Product Designer at Dyson from September 1999 to September 2000. Alex holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, completed in 2001, and attended Haileybury from 1990 to 1995.
