Andy Gardner

Andy Gardner is an Associate Director at Arup, specializing in the appraisal, analysis, and design of reinforced concrete within the Specialist Structures team. With extensive experience in the energy sector, they serve as Arup’s client manager for the Office for Nuclear Regulation, overseeing the licensing of civil nuclear facilities. Previously, Andy organized the Future of Design 2014 conference for IABSE and has held various roles in the Institution of Structural Engineers, where they were elected as a Fellow. They are also a co-opted member of BSI's Committee B/525/2, contributing to European standards for concrete structures. Andy's early career included a sponsored training role at Arup, where they gained diverse experience across multiple engineering disciplines.
