Catherine Chen is a seasoned Structural Engineer with over a decade of experience in the field, currently serving as an Associate and Senior Structural Engineer at Arup since August 2013. In this role, Catherine has led the structural design of notable fast-paced projects such as the Alexandria Headquarters, Grand Hyatt at SFO, and the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Old Main Hospital Demolition and Rebuild. Prior to this, Catherine contributed as a Structural Engineer at Arup and gained valuable experience as a Structural Engineering Intern at Halsall Associates, where responsibilities included the analysis and design of various building elements and oversight of restoration projects. Catherine holds a Master of Science in Structural Engineering, Mechanics and Materials from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto.
