Daniel Portilla is an accomplished architect and urban designer with extensive experience in large-scale projects that emphasize the Landscape Urbanism concept. Since December 2014, Daniel has served as an Associate and Senior Urban Designer at Arup. Prior roles include Editor at ArchDaily from May 2012 to April 2022, Designer at Heatherwick Studio from April 2013 to August 2014, and Urban Designer at Groundlab from October 2012 to April 2013. Daniel also worked as an Editor for Plataforma Networks and as an Urban Designer at MTA, where the focus was on Landscape Architecture and Urban Design. Early in the career, Daniel completed a summer internship at Alemparte Barreda y Asociados, contributing to social housing designs in Santiago de Chile. Educational qualifications include an MA in Landscape Urbanism from the Architectural Association and a Licensed Architect degree along with a Bachelor of Architecture from Universidad de Concepción.
