Darren Shaw

Darren Shaw is an experienced professional in the field of civil engineering and geotechnical engineering, currently serving as an Associate Director at Arup since January 2017. Concurrently, Darren holds the position of Vice Chair and Committee Member for the British Dam Society since April 2019. Prior roles include Senior Project Engineer at Knight Piesold, managing design and construction projects for tailings dams and water dams across multiple regions, and Geotechnical Engineer/Project Manager at Halcrow Group Ltd, focusing on foundation designs and geotechnical site investigations. Darren's early career involved research and academic contributions while completing a Doctor of Philosophy in Geoenvironmental Engineering at Cardiff University, where work also included support for SMEs concerning EU regulations on contaminated land.
