Haythem Shata

Haythem Shata, PE, is a Senior Engineer at Arup since November 2025, focusing on integrated water management and climate resilience initiatives that encompass engineering, urban design, and ecological systems. Prior to this, Shata served as a Senior Strategist at Sherwood Design Engineers from August 2018 to November 2025, where responsibilities included leading complex civil implementation projects and enhancing urban resilience through sustainability solutions. Earlier experience includes a Project Engineer role at Long Engineering, contributing to construction processes and integrated design, and an Engineering Technician position, where compliance and collaboration were key focuses. Shata began a career in civil engineering as a Civil Engineering Intern at Paragon Consulting Group, Inc. Shata earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, graduating in 2016.
