Helen Watson, CEng MIET, is a Senior Electrical Engineer at Arup, where they currently specialize in electrical engineering for buildings, focusing on power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm system design. They began their engineering journey with a Master of Engineering in Electrical and Energy Engineering from the University of Birmingham, graduating with first-class honors in 2016. Previously, they completed a 12-week electrical engineering internship with BAE Systems Maritime, where they evaluated submarines' energy capacity and contributed to a model submarine project. Since joining Arup in 2016, Helen has worked on various projects, including airport terminal upgrades and a deep underground metro station in the Middle East, while also integrating BIM into their design processes.
