Ian Drabble

Ian Drabble is an experienced civil engineer with a career spanning over three decades, currently serving as Associate Director and Group Commercial Leader at Arup since December 2007. In this role, Ian oversees commercial performance across the Energy, Water and Resources business in northern England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Previously, Ian held positions as Associate Director for North West and Yorkshire Infrastructure & Buildings groups and as Associate in charge of the Sheffield Office. Ian has also worked as Associate Director at WYG Group, where contributions included technical project management for multi-disciplinary development projects, and as Projects Manager at MOUCHEL plc., managing growth and operations of the Rotherham office. Early career experience includes roles as Principal Engineer at JMP Consulting and various engineering positions at Leeds City Council, where Ian gained Chartered Status with the Institution of Civil Engineers. Ian holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Bolton.
