Ian Knowles is an experienced acoustics specialist with a focus on performing arts and broadcasting. Currently serving as the Acoustics AV & Theatre Leader and Director at Arup since 2002, Ian has played a pivotal role in acoustic design for various venues, including concert halls, theatres, and studios. Additionally, Ian has held the position of Director at Ove Arup & Partners Ltd since June 2014, furthering expertise in acoustic design for significant projects. Prior experience includes a consultancy role at SBA from 1987 to 2002. Ian holds a degree in Physics with modern acoustics from the University of Surrey, completed between 2001 and 2005.
