Michael Chendorain, PE, is the Associate Director at Arup and Global Lead for Geothermal and Groundwater Engineering. They lead a global practice focused on advancing the sustainable use of groundwater and ground energy, with over 25 years of experience in hydrogeology, geothermal, and environmental engineering across North America, Europe, and Asia. Previously, they held roles at Streamborn, Treadwell & Rollo, and Praxis Environmental Technologies, and served as a Research Associate at UC Berkeley. Michael earned a Bachelor of Science in Soil and Environmental Sciences from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a degree in Soil and Environmental Sciences from the University of California, Riverside.
