Paul Simmonite is a Project Director at Arup, where they lead multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver high-performing solutions tailored to client needs. With over 29 years of cross-sector experience, including 16 years in the GCC and 13 years in the UK, they have worked with universities, developers, and government agencies on a variety of projects. Paul has notable experience in the restoration, adaptation, and reuse of historic buildings, having led the restoration of Qasr Al Hosn, the oldest building on Abu Dhabi Island. Currently, they are directing projects focused on innovative, sustainable designs, including the first net-zero energy mosque in the UAE. Paul holds a First Class Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University.
