Pim van der Wal is a Fire Safety Engineer and Consultant at Arup since July 2020, where expertise in fire safety is applied. Prior experience includes serving as a Graduate Engineer at Universiteit Twente from May 2018 to June 2019, focusing on the CO-tolerance of Platinum in electrochemical cells during a master research project. An internship at Johnson Matthey from September 2017 to February 2018 involved work on shaping Metal Organic Frameworks for commercial applications. Early involvement included serving as Board Treasurer for the rowing club D.R.V. Euros from September 2014 to September 2015. Pim holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Twente, completed in 2019, as well as a Bachelor of Science in the same field, achieved in 2016.
