Rachel Sandham is an Associate Director at Arup with over 25 years of experience, primarily serving as a Project Director on a variety of multi-disciplinary and specialist projects. They are part of the leadership team for Energy, Water, and Resources, focusing on creating thriving team environments and delivering technical excellence. Their technical expertise lies in engineering geology and geotechnics, applied to infrastructure projects such as flood defense schemes and reservoirs in various countries including the UK, Ireland, and Greece. Currently, Rachel is the Project Director for the design team of the Toddbrook dam rehabilitation works. They earned an MSc in Engineering Geology from the University of Leeds and a BSc (Hons) in Geology and Physical Geography from the University of Liverpool.
