Shy Tay currently serves as the Urban Design Market Leader and Aviation Business Leader for Cities, Planning & Design at Arup since January 2023. Additional roles include AIA Queensland Chapter Councillor and a member of the Independent Design Advisory Panel for Brisbane City Council. Shy is also a member of the Queensland Urban Design and Places Panel, providing expert advisory services on major infrastructure and urban design projects. Previously, Shy held various positions, including Principal and Practice Director at Arkhefield, and contributed to the Australian Institute of Architects as both the 2022 State Jury Chair and 2021 Deputy Chair for the Queensland Architecture Awards. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Architecture with Honours and a Bachelor of Built Environment from Queensland University of Technology, along with a Diploma in Architecture from Singapore Polytechnic.
