Simone Materazzo

Simone Materazzo is a highly experienced structural engineer with a diverse background in large-scale infrastructure projects across the Middle East and Asia. At Arup since July 2019, Simone serves as a Structural Associate, leading key projects such as the Dubai Building Code and the Palm Flower in Dubai. Previous roles include Principal Structural Engineer at WME, overseeing the design of a residential development in Abu Dhabi, and multiple leadership positions at Atkins, including managing structural designs for major projects such as the Dubai Airports Framework Contract, Riyadh Metro, and Doha Metro. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Trinity College Dublin and a Master of Science in Advanced Structural and Foundation Engineering from Heriot-Watt University.
