Sterling Butler, PE, LEED AP is a Mechanical Engineer at Arup since August 2023, contributing to mechanical design for new constructions and retrofits while developing workflows for energy performance evaluation. Previously, Sterling served as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, focusing on HVAC system design and digital automation tools to enhance building performance metrics. Earlier experience includes roles as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Arup, where coordination with contractors for various projects took place, and as a SEEK Virtual Facilitator with the National Society of Black Engineers, inspiring underrepresented youth in STEM. Additional internships provided exposure to MEP preconstruction as well as fabrication processes in large-scale construction projects. Sterling holds a Master of Engineering in Green Energy Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA.
