Founded in 2005 by Meghal and Vijay Arya in Ahmedabad, Arya Architects is a design practice rooted in contextual relevance and social engagement. Each project emerges from a rigorous exploration of site, brief, and cultural narratives, driven by the principle of "appropriateness" - a balance of research, intuition, and responsiveness to space and people.

The firm's work spans diverse public architecture typologies including educational campuses, transit hubs, sports facilities, public parks, and tourism infrastructure. Operating within the complex frameworks of public policy and regulation, Arya Architects has carved a niche in a space few young Indian firms navigate—redefining urban life through inclusive, functional, and dignified design.

Deeply inspired by traditional Indian architecture, the practice foregrounds semi-open and in-between spaces as essential to the Indian way of life—socially, culturally, and climatically. Drawing from vernacular forms such as chowks and streets, their designs celebrate collective experiences, encouraging community interaction and reclaiming the democratic essence of public space.

Arya Architects envisions architecture as a catalyst for societal transformation—quiet yet powerful interventions that enrich everyday life, challenge exclusivity, and foster equity in the urban fabric.
