Sean Sleight

Sean Sleight has held a variety of roles in the scientific field. Sean began their career in 2000 as a Research Assistant at Nuvelo, Inc. (formerly Hyseq, Inc.). In 2007, they became a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Washington's Sauro Lab. In 2013, they moved to Matrix Genetics, where they served as a Research Scientist. In 2017, they founded and became CEO of Sleight Beer Lab. Finally, in 2018, they joined Arzeda, where they held the roles of Scientist, Genetic Design-Build, Senior Scientist, Genetic Design-Build, and Associate Director, Genetic Design and Build.

Sean Sleight obtained a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona between 1994 and 1999. Sean then went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Michigan State University, which they completed in 2007.
