Dan Acquisto

Dan Acquisto is a seasoned composer with extensive experience in musical theatre and education. Since January 2007, Dan has contributed as a composer for Brooklyn Children's Theatre and has been associated with ASCAP since 2002. Dan also serves as a general music teacher at Montessori since September 2001 and works as a freelance copyist. With roles at Kaufman Music Center as a composer, music director, and percussionist, Dan writes original music and lyrics for workshops and music directs shows. Previous collaborations include composing for various theater companies such as Prospect Theater Company, Vital Theatre Company, Theatre C, York Theatre Company, and NYMF. Dan earned an MM in Music Composition from Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and completed advanced studies in songwriting for musical theatre at BMI’s Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, alongside attending the NYU/ASCAP Buddy Baker Film Scoring Workshop.
