David Lempert

David Lempert, PhD, currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of the Economist's Office at the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) since February 2019, where responsibilities include leading data survey and royalty distribution operations that impact 900,000 members and analyzing proprietary data to support royalty negotiations and policy changes. Prior to joining ASCAP, David Lempert held the position of Senior Director in the Economist's Office at the U.S. Department of the Treasury from March 2012 to February 2019, advising on critical transfer pricing cases and developing innovative valuation models for high-stakes pharmaceutical and intellectual property cases. David Lempert earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan and a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from The Graduate Center, City University of New York.
