Luis Castro

Luis Castro is the current Associate Director of Latin Membership at ASCAP. Prior to this, they served as the Membership Coordinator US Latin & Latin America at ASCAP from October 2011 to April 2016. In this role, they assisted the Senior Vice President in monitoring music trends and signing both established and upcoming songwriters and artists. Luis also helped manage a multimillion-dollar departmental budget and scheduled travel for the department. From July 2007 to July 2008, they interned at PRO MOTION where they supported the CEO and A&R Digital Marketing Manager with call direction, scheduling, and travel coordination. Luis also maintained and organized materials for radio/DJ promotional mailings, updated the company’s website, and managed their social media platforms.

Luis Castro earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music Business from the State University of New York College at Oneonta. Luis then went on to work in the music industry.

They are on a team with Karl Avanzini - Senior Director, Latin Membership, Roberto Rivera - Associate Director, Latin Membership, and Jorge F. Rodriguez - Senior Director, Latin Membership. Their manager is Gabriela Gonzalez, VP, Latin Membership.
