Michael Todd

AVP, Film & TV at ASCAP

Michael Todd is the current Assistant Vice President, Film & TV at American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). Michael has over 25 years of experience in the music industry.

Todd started their career in 1992 as a Contract Royalty Analyst – Royalties and Licensing Department at Capitol Records/EMI Records Group North America. Michael was responsible for calculating and processing artist and producer royalties. In 1994, they became an Assistant to the Sr. VP of Columbia Records West Coast at Sony Music/Columbia Records. Michael's responsibilities included interfacing with other various departments at Sony, Columbia and Epic Records.

In September 1994, Todd joined The Gorfaine/Schwartz Agency as a Sub-Agent/Coordinator. Michael's responsibilities included researching and pitching composers on feature films, television series, pilots and telefilms prior to negotiating the deal. Michael also developed and implemented a customized inter-office project management system (PMS) for the agency. Michael left The Gorfaine/Schwartz Agency in July 1999 to join ASCAP.

At ASCAP, Todd is responsible for managing film & TV relationships and drives ASCAP’s strategic initiatives in the area of Film & TV. Michael also oversees ASCAP’s Film & TV Music Awards and works closely with the organization’s PR, Communications and Creative Services departments on promotional campaigns and events surrounding ASCAP’s Film & TV music activities.

Michael Todd earned their Bachelors in Studio Music & Jazz from the University of Miami.
