Sumit Arora

Sumit Arora has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries and roles. Sumit currently serves as the Vice President - Data Analytics & AI at Ascend Learning since January 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Director - Data and Analytics at Ascend Learning from November 2019 to January 2022. Before joining Ascend Learning, they worked at Pearson as a Big Data Architect from December 2014 to December 2015.

Sumit has also held IT Architect roles at Xavient Information Systems from August 2011 to December 2014 and at Dish Network from August 2011 to December 2014. Sumit has experience as a Senior Consultant at Xavient Information Systems from July 2009 to August 2011.

Before that, Sumit worked at JPMorgan Chase as a Technical Lead/Consultant from March 2008 to July 2009, and at Infosys Technologies Ltd as a Consultant from January 2004 to July 2009. Sumit also worked at Cox Communications as a Business Analyst/Technical Consultant from June 2007 to March 2008, at Trane as a Technical Lead from September 2006 to May 2007, and at Solectron as a Software Engineer from July 2004 to August 2006.

Sumit Arora completed their B TECH degree from Harcourt Butler Technological Institute from 1998 to 2002. Sumit later pursued an MBA degree from Aspen University, completing it from 2010 to 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Sumit Arora has obtained several certifications. Sumit became Snowpro Core Certified from Snowflake in May 2023. In June 2021, they completed the "Becoming an AI-First Product Leader" certification from LinkedIn. Sumit Arora also completed the "Microsoft Professional Program for Data Science" certification from Microsoft in November 2019. Prior to that, they obtained various other certifications from Microsoft, including "DAT249x: Ethics and Law in Data and Analytics" in March 2019, "DAT248x: Analytics Storytelling for Impact" in December 2018, "DAT202.3x: Implementing Predictive Analytics with Spark in Azure HDInsight" in September 2018, "DAT210x: Programming with Python for Data Science" in June 2018, "DAT203.2x: Principles of Machine Learning" in April 2018, "DAT203.1x: Data Science Essentials" in December 2017, "DAT208x: Introduction to Python for Data Science" in September 2017, "DAT222x: Essential Statistics for Data Analysis using Excel" in June 2017, "DAT207x: Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Power BI" in May 2017, "DAT101x: Data Science Orientation" in March 2017, and "DAT201x: Querying with Transact-SQL" in March 2017.

Before their data science certifications, Sumit Arora also obtained the "CCD-410: Cloudera Certified Developer for Apache Hadoop" certification from Cloudera in March 2014. Sumit holds two certifications from Software AG, including the "webMethods Fabric 7 platform certification" obtained in October 2006 and the "Certified webMethods 6 developer" obtained in June 2004.
