Patrick Schittekat has a diverse work experience in various roles in the field of engineering and research. Patrick currently works as a Principal Engineer at Ascenium Inc, where they develop the compiler for the Ascenium Aptos processor. Before that, they worked as a Senior Research Scientist at SINTEF, leading the Aviation team within the Optimization Group. At SINTEF, they developed real-time decision support systems for Aviation and Air Traffic Control. Additionally, they worked as a Research Scientist at SINTEF from 2011 to 2016. Patrick also worked as a Research Associate at the University of Antwerp and as a Professor at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Patrick started their career at ORTEC, where they held the role of Consultant/Developer/Project Manager. At ORTEC, they contributed to the development of in-house algorithms, managed large projects, and conducted international consultancy.
Patrick Schittekat completed their education at the University of Antwerp. From 1999 to 2004, they pursued a degree in Commercial Engineering, specializing in ICT. Following this, they went on to pursue a PhD in Applied Economics, Optimization, and Supply Chain Management from 2006 to 2010 at the same university.
