Tony Alvarez

Tony Alvarez has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. In their most recent positions, they served as a Strategic Advisor for WhizAI and Autonomize Inc, starting in 2022. Prior to that, from 2019, they were the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Ascensus Specialties.

Tony's background includes a long tenure at Merck, where they held various senior leadership roles. This includes being the Retired Senior Vice President, Global Human Health, until 2018, and previously serving as the Digital Lead, Senior Vice President Global Human Health. Tony also held the position of President, Primary Care Business Line, Senior Vice President Global Human Health, where they were responsible for overseeing Merck's global primary care business.

Before joining Merck, Tony worked at MSD, where they held the titles of President and Representative Director, Senior Vice President Global Human Health. Tony was responsible for leading MSD's business in the Japanese market and ensuring the availability of innovative medicines and vaccines. Additionally, they briefly served as President and Representative Director, Banyu Seiyaku, Senior Vice President Global Human Health.

Prior to their time at MSD, Tony held various roles at Merck, including Head of Commercial Operations, Banyu and Schering Plough KK Japan, General Manager and Representative Director, Schering Plough Japan, and VP of Commercial Operations, Japan.

Tony's career began at Pharmacia, where they served as the VP of Operations AP/LA for over two decades, starting in 1982.

Tony Alvarez attended St. John's University from 1977 to 1982, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy.
