Tim Oliver is a qualified rearcrew instructor at Ascent Flight Training since October 2017, where responsibilities include developing courseware compliant with the Defence Systems Approach to Training and maintaining management tools for data tracking. Prior to this, Tim served in the Royal Air Force from April 1995 to October 2017, holding various positions including computer/display avionics technician, instructor, compliance assessor, and software engineer, demonstrating technical excellence and leadership in resource allocation and performance management. Tim's early career involved work as a television engineer at Browsers TV & Video from 1990 to 1994, focusing on equipment maintenance. Tim's educational achievements include a Diploma in Computing from Open University and a National Certificate in Engineering from the Defence College of Aeronautical Engineering.

Ascent is the training design and delivery organisation appointed as the UK MOD’s Training Service Partner. Our sole purpose is to provide the Military Flying Training System for the UK’s Armed Forces. We provide this through a unique partnering arrangement with Royal Air Force No 22 (Training) Group and the UKMFTS Project Team from DE&S.
