James Crowell

James Crowell is the Founder and CEO of Crow Industries, Inc., established in January 2018, which specializes in advanced data collection and autonomy solutions for mining, defense, and space applications. In 2023, James participated in Techstars' Industries of the Future Accelerator as part of a select cohort of promising startups. In 2021, James was recognized as a Deep Tech Pioneer by Hello Tomorrow for contributions to the deep tech sector. Previous experiences include roles as a PhD Research Associate and Teaching Assistant at Arizona State University, a Business Development Manager at Space Frontier Foundation, and a Lead Thermal Systems Engineer on the NASA Lunar Polar Hydrogen Mapper project. James has held engineering positions at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and has served as an advisor for Aerial Precision Ag. James holds a Doctor of Science from the University of Advancing Technology and has pursued a PhD in Systems Engineering at Arizona State University, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Earth and Space Exploration.
