Matt Shields

Matt Shields is an experienced business leader currently serving as the Business Unit Director for Core Grocery at Asda since July 2025. Prior to this role, Matt held various positions at Aldi UK from October 2015 to July 2025, including Buying Director for Pantry and Buying Manager for BWS. Earlier in the career, Matt worked at PizzaExpress as a New Opening Manager and Restaurant General Manager, and at Salt & Pepper Hospitality Ltd. as Managing Partner. Additional experience includes a tenure as General Manager at Boothwood Ltd and as a Manager at Pizza Hut Restaurants UK. Matt holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Entrepreneurship & Business Studies from The University of Huddersfield, completed in 2010.
