Venkat Raman is a seasoned sustainability professional with extensive experience in developing and implementing strategic sustainability initiatives. Currently serving as a Sustainability Manager at Asda since March 2021, Venkat leads efforts on carbon reduction, packaging, and operational waste to support the company’s Better Planet programs and Net Zero goals. Prior roles include Business Consultant at Tata Consultancy Services, where frameworks for climate-related business risks were created, and Strategy Consultant positions at BlackRock and British Antarctic Survey, focusing on climate risk assessment and market strategies. Venkat has a proven track record in environmental sustainability from tenure at Maaden, where significant reductions in carbon footprint and waste recycling were achieved, as well as earlier experience as an Environment Engineer at Vedanta Group. Venkat holds dual MBA degrees from Cambridge Judge Business School and the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from Osmania University.
