Nasrat Khalid has extensive work experience in various roles related to information technology and digital economy. Nasrat is the founder and CEO of ASEELapp, a platform aimed at onboarding underserved communities and countries to the digital economy. Nasrat has also led initiatives such as Aseel Handmade, which enables artisans to sell their products globally, and Aseel Emergency Response, which provides emergency food supplies in Afghanistan.

Additionally, Nasrat has worked as an Information Technology Architect at The World Bank, where they supported the development portfolio in Afghanistan as a technical IT resource. Nasrat was also an IT Advisor at The American University of Afghanistan, where they initiated the IT department and transformed the university's IT training and testing center. Nasrat also has experience as an Information Technology Project Manager at Chemonics International, overseeing IT infrastructure implementation and system development for projects in Afghanistan.

In terms of global engagement, Nasrat has been a G20 Young Global Changer and G20 YGC Ambassador, where they were part of the Digital Economy and Future of Work team, and a member of the Digitalization Working Group for the Global Solutions Summit. Nasrat has also served as an ICANN Fellow, participating in efforts to keep the Internet secure and interoperable.

Earlier in their career, Nasrat worked as an Information Technology Consultant at EDC, where they assisted in setting up IT services and infrastructure for a project funded by USAID.

Nasrat Khalid obtained a Master's Degree in Business and Management from the University of Essex, which they attended from 2013 to 2015. In 2005, they became a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer: Windows Server 2003 (MCSE) from Microsoft. In 2010, they obtained two more certifications: Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIP-E) from Juniper Networks and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) from Cisco.
