Corey Travers has held various roles in different companies throughout their work experience. Corey began their career as a Production Intern at Bell Media in 2012, where they assisted the TSN stats department and performed personal assistant duties during the Summer Olympics in London. In 2013, they worked as an Assistant to the Communication Director of the Athletics Department in NAIT as part of their practicum. From 2011 to 2013, Travers served as a Recreation Facilitator at the University of Alberta, where they organized and supervised men's intramural sports.
Travers then joined SPORTalk as a Content Promoter/Twitter Team Manager (Intern Position) in 2015. Corey wrote content to engage users on the website and managed team Twitter accounts for SPORTalk Oilers, Jays, and Dodgers. In the same year, they started contributing to SB Nation's Copper & Blue and maintained their personal sports blog as well.
Moving on, they worked as an Account Executive at Bakersfield Condors in 2016, focusing on season ticket packages and group sales. Corey exceeded sales targets in their first year. In 2014, Travers became a US Sports Data Analyst at Sporting Group, primarily trading live sporting events and later pricing main US Sports and handicapping prop markets. From November 2020 to January 2022, they transitioned to a Sports Product Analyst role, focusing on baseball-related product developments.
Their most recent position was as a Senior Trader at PointsBet from February 2022 to May 2023. Currently, Travers holds the position of Head of NHL at Angstrom, starting in May 2023.
Corey Travers completed a Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Recreation, Sport, and Tourism at the University of Alberta from 2009 to 2013. Following that, they pursued a Master's Degree in Communication Management at the University of Southern California from 2014 to 2016.
