Mark Pearson

Mark Pearson is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in leadership and strategic development within the environmental sector. Currently serving as Chief Executive at Ashdown Forest since January 2024, Mark previously held roles at Canal & River Trust as Partnerships & External Relationships Manager and Enterprise Manager from July 2019 to January 2024, focusing on fundraising and partnerships. Prior to that, Mark was the Director of Business and Commercial Development at Surrey Wildlife Trust from February 2006 to May 2019, where responsibilities included overseeing a significant department and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. Mark's career began as Head of Conservation at Sussex Wildlife Trust from November 2001 to February 2006, managing core objectives of the organization. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Geography from Middlesex University, obtained between 1990 and 1993.
