Stephen Hamstra, P.E., AEE Fellow, ASHRAE HBDP, CGD, is a highly experienced professional in high-performance building design and HVAC systems, currently serving as the Managing Member at The GreyEdge Group since March 2020. Hamstra has held various advisory roles at companies such as NexTEMP Solutions, Cascara Energy, and Shipshape, providing expertise in product enhancement and market strategies. As the CEO of Zeven Element Design Institute PLLC, independent consulting and engineering services are offered in geothermal heat pump systems and other innovative solutions. Hamstra’s former positions include Senior Vice President of Engineering at Melink Zero and Director of Engineering at Progressive AE, showcasing a strong leadership background in mechanical engineering. With a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University, Hamstra has significantly contributed to the fields of sustainable design and energy solutions throughout a distinguished career spanning over three decades.
