Asia Pacific Groups (APG) was established and incorporated in California in June 1987 as an HMW & JK Enterprises, Inc subsidiary.

The company was initially organized to do business in real estate investment, development, brokerage, and finance. In 1992, it started developing mortgage banking and a mortgage brokerage business. Special emphasis was put on short-term commercial and equity lending. The total funding for the first year was $150,000,000, and it expanded rapidly to $600,000,000. 2009, the company expanded into property management, emphasizing the San Francisco Peninsula and East Bay.
