David Munoz

David Munoz has a diverse background in engineering and renewable energy, currently serving on the Board of Directors for Renewable Taos Incorporated since 2016, promoting the transition to renewable energy in Taos County. As a System Analyst and Treasurer for Acequia de Los Lovatos, Munoz focuses on financial health and member engagement in this historic agricultural organization. With a long tenure at the Colorado School of Mines, David held various academic positions, culminating in retirement as an Emeritus Associate Professor while continuing to mentor graduate students on research projects. Additional leadership roles include serving as Executive Director of Village Science, President and Founder of Humanitarian Engineering LLC, and contributions to the Fetzer Institute's Advisory Council. Munoz's educational foundation includes a Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, along with a Bachelor's degree from The University of New Mexico.
