John Grimes is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in engineering management and emerging technologies. Currently serving as the Director of Emerging Technologies for Sustainability and Strategy & Innovations at ASME since May 2012, John has led various initiatives in robotics for inspection and maintenance, facilitating outreach to industry stakeholders. Previous roles at ASME include Senior Manager and Robotics Product Development Manager. Prior to ASME, John held key positions at Gibbs Energy, LLC as Engineering Manager, and at Ocean Power Corporation, where leadership over engineering teams was pivotal for developing innovative technologies. John’s earlier career involved design engineering roles at Bosch Automotive Service Solutions, Toyota North America, and Chrysler, focusing on product development, quality assurance, and manufacturing processes. John holds a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University and California State University, Long Beach, respectively.
