Thomas H.

Thomas H. is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in engineering and research, currently serving as the Director of the Advanced Computing and Emerging Technology Division at the UMD Applied Research Lab for Intelligence & Security since March 2020. Thomas also holds the position of Associate Director for Education Programs at the University of Maryland's Institute for Systems Research, where responsibilities include directing systems engineering education and mentoring students. In addition to significant roles as a Research Engineer at the University of Maryland and Managing Member of The Hedberg Group, LLC, Thomas has contributed to various high-profile industry standards and initiatives, notably through involvement with ASME and LOTAR International. Thomas holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech and has degrees in Engineering Management and Aeronautical Engineering from Penn State University and Purdue University, respectively.
