Yang Shen

Yang Shen, Ph.D., currently serves as Senior Director of Software at Horizon Surgical Systems, focusing on FDA-compliant SDLC management and software development. Prior roles include Director of Software and Principal Engineer, emphasizing software/system infrastructure design and core module development. In addition to industry experience, Yang Shen is an active Panelist for the National Science Foundation, providing expert opinions for grants exceeding one billion USD, and a Senior Member of IEEE, contributing to numerous peer reviews across multiple journals and conferences. Further involvement includes manuscript review for Springer Nature Group, Elsevier, and ASME, alongside previous positions at Futronics Corporation and UBTECH Robotics, leading manipulation and control software initiatives. Yang Shen holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA and bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Hong Kong and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
