Bobby van Thiel

Bobby van Thiel is an accomplished engineering professional with a strong background in mechanical engineering, currently serving as an Industrial Strategy Consultant at ASML since May 2025. Previous experience includes leading the levitation team for the Delft Hyperloop project, overseeing various functions within a six-engineer department, and chairing the Leeghwater Freshman Weekend at Delft University of Technology. Bobby has also contributed as a student member of the Board of Studies for Mechanical Engineering and participated in the CVO Groep's Participation Council. Earlier roles include coaching at Koninklijke Watersport Vereniging Loosdrecht and involvement in academic projects through the Christelijk Lyceum Zeist Science Academy. Bobby is currently enhancing research skills as a Research Fellow at Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, focusing on geometric nonlinearities in material properties. Educational achievements include a cum laude Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, along with a bilingual high school diploma.
