Rafael Escovar has extensive experience in high-performance computing and application performance engineering. Currently serving as Chief Product Owner for the Engineering Simulation ART at ASML since February 2018, Rafael also holds the title of Sr. IT Specialist in HPC, focusing on optimizing application performance for end users. Prior to ASML, Rafael worked at Atos as an Application Performance Engineer from May 2012 to December 2017, specializing in benchmarking and optimizing high-performance industrial applications for supercomputing environments. Rafael's early career includes a role as an R&D Engineer at Mentor Graphics from March 2001 to August 2011, where significant contributions were made to the development of advanced technology tools. Rafael began academic pursuits as a Graduated Teaching Assistant at Universidad Simón Bolívar while enrolled in an applied mathematics MSc program. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Mathematics applied to microelectronics from Université Joseph Fourier, alongside several other advanced degrees in applied mathematics from prestigious institutions.
