Sean Abbasi

Sean Abbasi is currently a Senior Material Scientist at ASML, where they engineer innovative coatings and interfaces. They previously served as a Graduate Research Fellow at the University of California San Diego, focusing on the design and characterization of thin-film ferroelectric materials. Abbasi also gained experience as an R&D intern at HP, developing methods to investigate inkjet printhead failures, and as a research assistant at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where they worked on novel nanoparticles for energy applications. Their early research included internships at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg and the University of Tehran, contributing to renewable energy and process design. Sean Abbasi holds a Ph.D. in Nanoengineering from the University of California San Diego and is pursuing a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago, alongside a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tehran.
