Andy Young

Chief Technology Officer at Asperitas

Andy Young has held a variety of roles in the engineering field over the past two decades. In 1997, they held a Research Fellow position with a research group. The following year, they worked as a Principal Engineer with ANSYS, Inc. From 2005 to 2009, they were the Head of Mechanical Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University. In 2009, they became the Director of Hallam Energy, directing commercial consultancy, knowledge transfer programmes, and research and development. From 2012 to 2016, they were the CTO of Litecool Ltd. From 2014 to 2019, they held the role of Head of Industrial Collaborative Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University. From 2019 to 2020, they were a Director at EXERGICENGINEERING LIMITED and a Fellow at the University of Leeds. Andy currently holds the roles of Chief Technology Officer and Director of Research and Development at Asperitas.

Andy Young completed their BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leeds between 1990 and 1993. Andy then returned to the University of Leeds to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the same field, which they completed in 1997.
