David Cabrera

David Cabrera is currently the Chief of Staff at the Van Andel Institute and serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the Association of Independent Research Institutes. With previous experience as a Science Policy and Administrative Manager at the Van Andel Institute, they have also held various leadership roles on boards, including Vice Chair and Director with AIRI. Cabrera worked as a Marine Biology and SCUBA Instructor earlier in their career and participated in an NIH Management Intern Fellowship. They are pursuing a Master of Science at the College of Charleston while holding a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary's College of Maryland.
