Michael Cumming has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Michael started their career at Channel Management International as a Marketing Coordinator in 2007. Michael then moved on to Building Blocks Technologies Inc. as an Inside Sales representative, where they focused on providing technology, security, and corporate skills training solutions to clients in Canada and North America. In 2013, they joined CMI Inc as a Business Development Manager, responsible for managing sales processes, building relationships with government clients, and seeking out new IT security solutions. In 2016, they joined Phreesia as a Client Success Associate, excelling in contract negotiations and managing premium accounts. Since 2017, they have been working at Assent Compliance Inc, starting as a Customer Success Associate and eventually being promoted to Senior Customer Success Manager. In these roles, they have successfully managed a large book of business, supported colleagues in client meetings, collaborated with internal stakeholders, and onboarded and advocated for clients in various industries.

Michael Cumming completed their education in a chronological manner. Michael first attended Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology from 2002 to 2005, where they obtained a Marketing Diploma in Business Admin Marketing. In 2005 to 2006, they enrolled in both The University of British Columbia and Okanagan College, where they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a specialization in Business.

In addition to their formal education, Michael Cumming has also obtained several certifications. In November 2021, they completed the Level 2 Customer Success Advanced certification from Growth Molecules. In September 2021, they completed the Level 1 Customer Success Foundations certification, also from Growth Molecules. Furthermore, in October 2013, they completed the Eclypt HMG Technical Training - Custodian and Administrator Course from VIASAT.
