Chan, YK has extensive work experience in the media industry. Chan, started their career at Associated Press Television News Ltd in 2001 and held various roles including Regional Executive and Head of Asia, Global Media Services. In 2016, they joined Associated Press as the Vice President - Asia Sales.

Chan, YK obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Media Studies from Murdoch University in the years 1990-1993. Later, from 2008 to 2010, Chan pursued a Master of Management degree at Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) in the field of Management.
