Matthew Lee is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in foreign affairs reporting. Since February 2007, Matthew has served as a State Department correspondent for the Associated Press. Prior to this role, Matthew was the Deputy Bureau Chief for East Africa and the Indian Ocean at Agence France Presse from January 2005 to January 2007. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS) in International Relations from Georgetown University, where studies were completed from 1985 to 1989.
