Mike McQueen possesses extensive experience in journalism and academia, currently serving as the chief of bureau for The Associated Press in New Orleans since March 2006. Prior roles include managing editor at Knight Ridder Newspapers for the Macon Telegraph from 2003 to 2006 and positions with the Sun Herald and The Macon Telegraph. McQueen also served on the Knight Ridder hurricane team and held editorial roles at the Miami Herald and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Additionally, McQueen has contributed to academia as an associate professor at Florida International University and as a lecturer at the University of Miami. McQueen earned an M.A. in communication from Florida International University, alongside degrees in creative writing and various studies from Mercer University and Florida State University.
