Peter Prengaman

Peter Prengaman is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in environmental and international reporting. Currently serving as the Global Climate and Environmental News Director at The Associated Press since January 2015, Prengaman leads comprehensive coverage of climate change, biodiversity, and energy transition globally. Previous roles at the Associated Press include Brazil News Director and Western U.S. News Director, where Prengaman managed news operations and editorial teams across multiple regions. In addition to reporting and editing, Prengaman co-authored a book analyzing the impeachment of former Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff. Prengaman has held various positions in journalism, including freelance reporting in Morocco and Chile, and initiatives in multimedia storytelling.
