Scott Sonner

Reno Correspondent

Scott Sonner has extensive experience in journalism, currently serving as the Reno correspondent for The Associated Press since March 1988, where responsibilities include overseeing the Reno bureau and directing coverage of northern Nevada on topics such as environment, politics, and government. Prior to this role, Scott was a regional reporter based in Washington D.C. and earlier worked as a news reporter in the Omaha bureau of The Associated Press. Scott's journalism career began at United Press International from January 1983 to March 1988, focusing on politics, sports, and general news. Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, Broadcasting/Film from the University of Iowa, obtained between 1978 and 1982.
